The main causes were their poor match performances since the 2015 CWC, low level of fitness, and inability to perform well under pressure.
India, their biggest rival, must be the first team they play. Beating the World’s third-ranked team was a difficult assignment. In a smaller 48 overs, India scored 319 runs. Pakistan’s response was limited to 164 runs. Shadab put a lot of effort into using his batting prowess to get the squad back on track but in vain. For Pakistan, the path to the trophy was becoming more difficult.

They were successful in putting 48 runs together and started constructing a strong foundation. Shadab Khan, though, entered in the 28th over. He took Morgan’s wicket on his third delivery of the over. The score, which had been approaching 300 runs, was ultimately reduced to 211 runs, and Shadab was ecstatic since it was the turning point for Pakistan.

He broke the record for the youngest player to win an ICC ODI tournament finals.
He was not included in the national team for the August 2021 Test matches against the West Indies. Pakistan could be able to pull out a series tie, though. A few days later, he joined the T20 team, where Pakistan could only win one of the three T20 matches since the other two were rained out. Shadab was chosen as vice-captain when the Pakistani team was unveiled one month later for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, which would take place from 17 October to 14 November.
